Local, Fresh, Island-Grown Food! Discover Mayne Island’s Freshest Produce—All in One Place This summer, you’ll have a new way to get the freshest, most delicious food grown right here on Mayne Island. The Mayne Island Growers + Farm Collective is launching its pilot in 2025. It will bring together small local growers under one roof (tent!) at the Mayne Island Farmers Market. It’s not just convenient—it’s a chance to directly support the growers who feed our community— and they’d love to do more of it! Why Join the CSA + Farm Collective as an Eater (Consumer)? 🥬 Fresh, Local Produce Every Week Everything is harvested right on the island, usually within 24 hours of pick-up. Expect a vibrant variety of seasonal vegetables—and potentially eggs, herbs, fruit, or flowers—depending on what’s available that week. |

What is a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture)?
CSA allows you to buy a share of the growers' seasonal harvest on a weekly basis directly from local growers. Typically, you would sign up (and pay) before the growing season starts, and then receive your weekly share for about 18 weeks from June to October. This helps farmers plan ahead and guarantees that you’ll get a variety of island-grown vegetables (and sometimes eggs, fruit, herbs or flowers) every week during the season. For this year, it will function a little differently— ✅ Select and Pay as You Go, Week-by-Week No need to sign up for a full season. This pilot year is fully week-by-week:
Visitors and casual shoppers are welcome too! ✅ Support Your Growers Directly Your dollars go straight to Mayne Island growers, supporting local agriculture, preserving island farmland, and keeping food dollars in the community. ✅ Great Value Pricing is structured to offer excellent value, often more affordable than off-island grocery store alternatives, fresher, and more convenient. Produce is harvested as close to market time as possible ✅ Low-Waste, Low-Carbon Bring your own bags or bins. Reduce packaging and food miles by eating closer to home. Bonus: many participating farms are using organic or regenerative practices. ✅ Know Your Food, Know Your Farmer Get to know who’s growing your food! Weekly emails or in-person interactions will include:
When & Where Find us every Saturday, starting May 17, 2025 from 10 am to 1 pm (the first few weeks will just be a chance to meet and ask questions, until the produce starts coming in.) Mayne Island Farmers Market – Outside at the Ag Hall grounds. Sign-up to be on the information list and for the weekly produce share. A Model That Works for Mayne We’re testing a hybrid approach of CSA &Farmers Market that’s been successful in other farming communities in BC, especially in cooperative markets across the Fraser Valley.
